Looking for the comforts of home while near Turkey Run? Look no further. My fiance and I stayed here for a single night after a horrible experience with the cabins at the Sugar Creek Campground in Crawfordsville, which weren't cabins at all, by the way, they were sheds with beds. The Gobbler's Knob cabins however, is like a hotel room. Shower, running, water, coffee maker, TV, couch, a big comfy bed, and much more. There's also a above ground fire pit and a grill outside to use. I would definitely recommend these cabins to anyone. Totally worth it.
The shower consisted of standing in a bucket in the middle of the bathroom. The night I spent there was like staying in the back of a semi truck on the side of Highway 41. Never again.
Found bed bugs in bed in cabin along with grass on the supposedly clean sheets. Did agree to stay in the other cabin that did not have evidence of infestation. Of course I didn't want to sleep in that bed due to my experience in the other cabin, so I spent the night shivering on the sofa. Very inadequate heating, no paper towels and not even a bar of soap. I did not stay the second night as planned. I did not have a choice of lodging as I was staying with my dog.
The cabins are absolutely adorable! Love that they are so close to Turkey Run State Park!
When I arrived for check-in, there was no one there and the store was closed.
